Well at last I have the time to give you my updates!
As you can see below I have just added a update on the Shadower filming which went brilliantly.
I also had the pleasure of a day at the Memorabilia Show at the NEC on the 31st March which was great. Combining it with a Comic Con it gave the whole event a fresher feel and a great atmosphere. It was brilliant that so many people appreciated me as Xena and had lots of photos taken and met some cool Xena fans! A shame that Hercules actor Kevin Sorbo had to pull out of the event but there are rumours he may make the November show, so fingers crossed! I think he is the only Xena actor I haven't met so I'm really looking forward to meeting him.
One person I was really keen to meet and didn't disappoint was the best and most recognised stuntman in the industry Vic Armstrong. He has a career as long as your arm but is most noted for all his work in the Bond films and the famous scene in Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark when Indy is dragged under the army truck hanging onto his whip, that was Vic!

Another highlight of the day was the fact that my mum came along to see me and what I get up to at Mem! Was great introducing her to some famous people I know and she and her partner John had a great time!GRIN
An old friend of mine invited me to attend a charity event in aid of the Autism All Stars Foundation along side my buddies in the UKG. I will post a separate report on that soon.

I have done a couple of days work on the new Jason Statham film which was tough as they were night shoots outside so pretty cold and tiring. I have another days filming to go so will let you now how it goes.

Getting very excited as the Spirit of Albion movie has its premiere on Monday 30th April, thanks to my friends who have already pre-ordered their dvd, thank you for your support an interest it really does mean a lot. For those who haven't yet please do as there are more exciting announcements coming for a follow up! Will let you know how the premiere goes!

Well I'm off to carry on with some costume making, will post again shortly.

Thanks
JoMARVIN

Shadower Filming - 8th April 2012

Well Easter Sunday saw the filming of a brand new scene and part of the new opening of the film, exciting stuff!
The film now starts with a flash back to the aftermath of a medieval battle, the Shadowers are introduced to the story by having some of their history being explained. As the Shadowers are creatures that have been around for a long time and are rarely seen, we decided to give them a bit of a mythical feel hence why some of the armour has a fantasy edge to it.
We have have had the pleasure of having our friend Terry English come along with some of his amazing armour for this shoot which totally gives the scene a great atmospheric feel. We even gave Terry and his lovely lady Julie a small role in the scene as a thank you. You may recognise some of the armour from the blockbuster film 'Sucker Punch'.
To say I was a happy bunny when I got up on the horse in my armour was an understatement! I felt right at home GRIN
At the moment the Shadower website is going through some updates but in the meantime you can check out all the new photos and news on its Facebook Page Shadower
Here is a great shot of me in my armour on my trusty steed.

Hey!, so sorry its been longer than it should have been for a new posting! I guess I have a couple of reasonable excuses.
I have just got back from the Memorabilia Fair at the NEC (31st March) could only make the Saturday this time but had a great time and had lots of photos taken. I shall post some up very shortly.
Remember the vampire film I have been involved in, the one that was originally filmed in Oklahoma a couple of years ago, well things have been quietly rumbling away and recently we have had some new exciting activity with it. There have been a few re-shoots in America and the coming Easter weekend will see a brand new scene being filmed which will involve horses and armour for a flashback scene! It's all very exciting and a behind the scenes video will be made during filming so there will be lots to report on. Sign up to the Facebook page too for more updates Shadower Facebook Page
Hopefully there will be some bigger rumblings for this little film too so watch his space.
Did a days filming on the daytime soap Doctors and had a nice little moment in a self defense class being accidentally kicked by one of the main characters, should be aired near the end of May, will keep my eyes open and let you know.
Getting really excited about the imminent release of the Spirit of Albion movie on the 1st May and its premiere on Monday 30th April. You can pre-order the dvd so you can be one of the first to receive a copy from here Spirit of Albion Shop I will post piccies etc from the premiere and write a report!

Thanks for stopping by....

JoMARVIN

Well the final episode of the BBC drama was aired tonight (17th Feb) and it was a cracking episode reuniting some of the original cast for the last time on screen.
I was lucky enough to have a small role on this episode being a grifter and part of the gangs final heist. I was in a couple of scenes and in one along side the actress Jaime Murray which was pretty cool.

Xena Convention, Burbank, California - 27th-29th January 2012

Well at last I was able to make it back to the LA Xena convention after missing it for the last 3/4 years? It was so great to go back and catch up with so many friends and as it was billed as the last, most fans made the effort to go so the attendance was good.
The guest list didn't disappoint either with over 20 guests including Lucy and Renee. I caught most of the talks and the ones that really stood out was Katherine Fugates' scripted play of her version of how Xena should have ended much to the delight of the fans. The fun part of it was the actors who she got to turn up and read the parts which included Claudia Black and Beverly D'Angeleo with Renee playing her role of Gabrielle. Another highlight for me was Claire Stansfield and Tim Ormundson, both on stage together doing a rendition of the Actors Studio as themselves and then in character as Alti and Eli which was really funny.
I took the opportunity to ask Jennifer Ward Leyland and Michael Hurst about their research into the back ground of Boudica and what they knew about her. It wasn't much of a surprise to learn they did their homework as they are very method actors so it was good to know they knew their stuff. It was also cool to connect with them my future role of playing Boudica with her portrayal of the great Iceni Queen.
The costume contest was really well supported this year with over 30 entries which was great to see, it was just a pleasure to be able to wear one of my other Xena costumes as it's only at a Xena Con when it would be recognised.
It was also great to see so many newbies at their first ever convention, really great to know Xena is still reaching new audiences. I worked it out the other day that I must have been going to Xena Cons since the year 1998!? Wow, I think it was the late 90's I started portraying Xena, gosh I can't believe its been so long!
Lucy and Renee's stint on stage was great and some good questions were asked, also interesting to hear about Spartacus stories from Lucy. To the fans delight Lucy grabbed Renee and looked as if she gave her a big kiss which was played up by the pair.
I have to say I had a couple of big highlights of this particular convention, the first being the first night I arrived at the hotel to find myself being interviewed as part of a documentary by none other than William Shatner!

The other was to finally get a photo with the lady herself, Lucy Lawless thanks to my friend Angela who let me share her photo op. I will post a pic when I get a copy but it was such a shame it was so fleeting but still I cant complain.
Well I'm sure that most fans know that this isn't going to be the final Xena convention so hopefully if I have the money I can make the next one!
