Just a quick posting from me, having just attended Memorabilia at the NEC in Birmingham, just wanted to share some news with you. I will post a proper report on the event a bit later. I came across the Cartamundi stand at Mem, for those of you who don't know who they are they produce special playing cards. They have just produced a new deck of Torchwood series 1 cards and guess who is in it? I am the 4 of Hearts! Wow how cool is that! The deck will be going on sale very soon so keep your eyes peeled, but in the meantime I thought I would share it with you now! I will post further info about this in my report. How chuffed am I!
Mem report now posted below!

( 3.1 / 105 )Winter Mem was much better supported than the last one, it appears the attendance was so low on the summer event they have decided to drop it and stay with the spring and winter one.
The crowds were a little slow to start but soon warmed up and really appreaciated the show of costumed characters walking around from the Garrison. The movie section was well supported this time with some cracking new costumes, Kroenen, the scary knife wealding bad guy from Hellboy, a Cylon from the original Battlestar Galactica, a screen used soldier costume from Children of Men and other great costumes from Ghostbusters, Aliens, Matrix and our very own Cpt Jack Sparrow! The Star Wars characters were in full force with yet another crackin new bounty hunter from The Empire Strikes Back, Zuckuss. The bounty hunter line up is growing from strength to strength. Another new costume premiering was Darth Maul, yet another high quality costume for which the Garrison is famous for.

There were a few no shows from the billed appearances such as Ron Pearlman and Paul Gasgoine from the sports star section. Even so there were big crowds and the stall holders seemed happier with the brisk trade. The General Lee car from the Dukes of Hazard greeted the crowds as they entered the hall with the actor John Schneider on hand for photos and signings. Also headling the star signings was Greg Grunberg from the hit TV series Heroes, Danny Dyer star of several Brit Flicks and the cast of the TV series The Bill and many other actors from film and TV.
The Saturday evening for the Garrison was as usual a load of laughs with a certain new recruit going through his initiation who I must say took it all in his stride and handled it very well! Overall another great troop, another chance to wear my Bossk costume as well as my stormtrooper armour. The bounty hunter squad looked great when we all came together on the Sunday afternoon and the crowds visiting the Christmas Festive Exhibition in the neighbouring hall seemed to enjoy the costumed characters too with many photos being taken. The photostand brought in more money for the charity pot with R2 D2 stealing the show!

I stumbled across the Cartamundi stand and noticed they produce special edition playing cards, they have just produced a deck of Torchwood cards for series 1. As mentioned above I found that I appear in the deck on the 4 of Hearts! Thanks to Andy in the Garrison who is friends with a guy who runs a card collector group, I ended up signing some cards and being interviewed for a podcast on their website. Please check out their site for info on non-sports trading cards and listen to my podcast interview! check it out at UK Card Cast
Top troop all, until the next!
Thanks to Dave Bloor (TK5425) for the use of the photos

( 3 / 122 )Hey,
Just as I thought we had stopped the spammers who apparently are based in the Ukraine, some other type has started to come through! All I can say is if this persists and we ban this lot and then another lot comes through, I'm afraid I will have to remove the comment option. I hope these idiots get a life as I really can't see the point of what they are doing and to what end it will achieve apart from pissing people off! And if all that its for then I pity the sad fools!
Anyway I have been attending a few castings for a few projects recently and hope something comes from it all. Will keep you all posted. This weekend see's the Film & TV Memorabilia show at the NEC in Birmingham again with some good stars attending. Check out the site for further info http://www.memorabilia.co.uk As usual the UK Garrison will be there in full force with lots of different characters from Film, Televison and of course Star Wars. Come along and get those Chrissy pressies!

( 3 / 115 )Hey,
First I must apologise for the all the spam comments that have been left on my blogs, I seem to have been inundated with them. Please ignore them , hopefully the situation will be rectified as soon as possible and the comments can be left for genuine ones.
Things are ticking over with bits and pieces coming in but as with everything around this time of year things start to slow down in the run up to Christmas. The Film and TV world is no different, but I do have another days filming on the daytime soap Doctors in a couple of days time, will let you know how it goes. See below for another Garrison report.

( 3 / 122 )Hey!
Sorry for the gap in postings, it's the busy time in the firewalking world at the moment. The last couple of weeks has seen me drive all over the country building and walking on fire!
Since I last posted I have done another troop which I will post the report in the next couple of days. I have also been attending castings/auditions inbetween everything, will let you know if anything comes of it all. I have also managed to fit in a photo shoot at my friend Bob's studio for a very cool calendar featuring 'babes with blades'. A fantasy sword n sandle style theme with all sorts of amazons, warriors, mages and other cool characters. Will let you know when it becomes available, I was very happy with my shoot and look forward to see which shot ends up being used.
I have also landed myself a great acting agent so I'm hoping this will help me landing some great roles, fingers crossed.
Well thanks again for stopping by and post again very soon.
Cheers
Jo
