Had a great time in Chicago at my brothers wedding, Chicago is a great place, loads of amazing buildings. We went up the Hancock Tower which is 100 stories high, wow the view from the top was amazing, it really helped that it was a beautiful sunny day (but bloody freezing!).
Met some great people and made new friends and now our family has extended again!
Now back home again and lets hope things pick up, already had mixed results this year so far. Just done a day on Casualty and have another days work on some new comedy series filming in Coventry on Monday. I heard back from the all day audition in Portsmouth for the online soap, even though I made it to the second stage I didn't get a role
Oh well I guess I just keep hoping someone out there can see me in their next Hollywood film!
Later
Jo

( 3 / 149 )I just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a better and prosperous New Year and thank you all for your support and interest.
I'm really hoping the new year is going to be a great one, I have worked hard going to auditions and castings and hopefully something good will be just around the corner. I have been shortlisted for a film which will be shot in Portugal, hopefully the big audition I attended in Portsmouth will be successful and will know sometime in January too. Just completed another Student film shot in Worcester as well as a short film with some CGI effects which was filmed in Birmingham. As ever when I know more I will post here.
I'm away now until the start of the new year as I'm off to my brothers wedding in Chicago!
Thanks again and catch you later peeps, take care and be safe over the festive period!
All the best
Jo

Well this was a different troop! The UKG was invited to help with the launch of a new Star Wars machine at some Casino's in Monte Carlo. 8 stormtroopers, Vader, Boba Fett, Leia, a Jedi and X Wing Pilot were flown over and put up in the 5 star Monte Carlo Bay Hotel!
The launch was very well planned, the UKG made their entrance down the steps of the Opera House through a wall of smoke and to the Imperial March theme booming out of a sound system. A red carpet lined with potted palm tree's lined the route to the casino entrance with large crowds of people. Once inside the troopers lined up infront of the covered machines and at the given signal were unveiled. When leaving the casino to move onto the next one, the traffic was brought to a standstill by 2 troopers (one being yours truely!) whilst the other characters crossed the road.
We loaded into 2 mini buses in full kit, (was a very funny sight), and followed some of the route of the Grand Prix track. Onto the next Casino and eventually ending up in the casino in the hotel we were staying in.
The days events ended up in being given a small gift set as a thank you and a glass of champagne!
An amazing troop with a few hiccups on the way, having to change planes just before departure due to a fault on the plane, and Vaders helmet which never left the UK! Also Dom's suitcase got absolutely trashed by the baggage handlers but thankfully his costume only suffered minor damage.
There has to be a mention to Oliver from the Monaco Garrison who saved the event. He came along and lent his Vader helmet so the event could continue with a Vader. An absolute sport and gentleman in true 501st style! Thanks also to the rest of the UKG crew who made the trip an experience filled with laughs and fond memories, and as ever Sean for being a part of it too.
The only low was my sore feet from walking for 2 hours looking for a pub that was open so we could have a drink!
Here's hoping the chance will arise to go again.

( 2.9 / 144 )The Winter Mem is upon us again, this time under new management which will hopefully see an icrease of people attending. The last few shows have been lacking and the crowds low. Thankfully this show did seem more upbeat and the crowds were definately coming back.
The headliners for this event were Henry Winkler (the Fonz) Lindsay Wagner (Bionic Woman), Gareth David Lloyd (Torchwood),William Moseley (Narnia) as well as a selection from Star Wars, Dr Who, Bond Girls and many more. Great to see Jeff Wayne back too promoting the 30th Anniversary Tour of War Of The Worlds for 2009.
As ever the UKG was well receieved with a large contingent in attendance. Sean and I were there both days as Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth Swann. One of the best parts of the weekend had to be on the Sunday afternoon when were were walking around with other UKG movie characters Mad Max, Neo from the Matrix and Austin Powers. What a surreal vision we must have been! It was such a laugh and so much fun, just great
Amanda Muggleton who played Chrissie from Prisoner Cell Block H wanted her photo with us all as she thought we were great. As ever Warwick Davis and his family were just lovely and so chatty, lovely lovely people as well as Jeremey Bulloch who is just wonderful to talk to. He told us he will be appearing at a UKG event sometime next year in his very own Boba Fett costume, wow how cool will that be. Will post any news here when I know when.
Yet another great event and really looking forward to the Spring Mem. Thanks to Sean again for being just lovely to walk around with as it is with all the guys and gals of the UKG! You all rock!
So now I will sign off with one of the coolest dude around! Eeeyyee!

( 3 / 168 )The UKG enthralled the crowds at the National Space Centre's Movie Mania Weekend. Joined by the UKCM (the UK Colonial Marines group), the Replica Prop Board guys, as well as a great display of movie vehicles from Hullywood Entertainment and film props from the London Prop store.

Thousands of people descended upon the Space Centre and were welcomed by and array of movie characters such as Iron Man, Batman, Mad Max, Indiana Jones, Stormtroopers, Pirates of the Caribbean characters to name a few.
Alongside the film characters were the real stars of Hollywood including Kenny Baker and Jeremy Bulloch, who played R2D2 and Boba Fett in the Star Wars films, Warwick Davis and Rusty Goffe and Ian Whyte (Predator). Star Wars author and New York Times #1 bestselling author Karen Traviss was on hand for a Q&A session and Terry English the famous Armourer of many movie costumes, especially Aliens and Excalibur had a dispaly and Q&A session too.
Among the activities was a Pirates of the Caribbean class, which taught children to act, sing and fight like pirates. The Ghostbuster Experience, seeing the boys getting rid of a pesky ghost! Batman was seen dealing some justice out to the Joker and his Goon gang. Some amazing movie cars on display such as Knightriders Kit, The Blues Brothers car and some American Cop cars.
This gives you an idea of what an excellent weekend the Space Centre held. So many brilliant costumes on display with some great new ones having their first outing. Sean and I also laid on a Jack Sparrow and Elizabeth Swann sword fight in the afternoon, after spending the morning being dressed as an Alien and Colonial Marine! This event also saw my first outing as Elizabeth Swann in my costume I made, took nearly a year to make!
Another highlight of the weekend had to be when we went for an evening meal at the local Noodle Bar where we ordered some Foo Kin Rice! It was worth it just for the waitress to come to the table and say "Who ordered the Foo Kin Rice", childish but bloody funny! Thanks to the Scott family and Kieran for joining us for the meal, was a great start to the evenings social.
As ever the Space Centre did an amazing job or organising this event with the help of the UKG. Thanks also to Sean for help with my costume and all the sword fight practise and for the great character interaction as the Marine and as Jack, you were ace!
