The Four Seasons TV Mini Series
I have just finished my 6 week stint on this production as a "stand-in", for those of you who are not sure what that is, a description on Wikipedia explains:
A stand-in in film and television is a person who substitutes for the actor before filming, for technical purposes such as lighting.
Stand-ins are helpful in the initial processes of production. Lighting setup can be a slow and tedious process; during this time the actor will often be somewhere else. Stand-ins allow the director of photography to light the set, the camera department to light and focus scenes. The director will often ask stand-ins to deliver the scene dialogue "lines" and walk through "blocking" the scenes to be filmed. In this way, a good stand-in can help speed up the day's production and is a necessary and valuable cast member on a film.
Stand-ins are distinguished from body doubles, who replace actors on camera from behind, in makeup, or during dangerous stunts. Stand-ins do not appear on camera. However, on some productions the jobs of stand-in and double may be done by the same person.
Stand-ins do not necessarily look like the actor, but they must have the same skin tone, hair color, height and build as the actor so that the lighting in a scene will be set up correctly. For example, if the lighting is set up with a stand-in shorter than an actor, the actor might end up having his or her head in relative darkness.

The Four Seasons is a four-part television series based on an original idea by Rosamunde Pilcher, author of best-selling novels The Shell Seekers and Coming Home. The 4 episodes are all self contained stories, the first 2 have already been shown on german television and were well received. Each episode has a story in a particular season, it's best described as a family saga and love story set in the present day. The cast contains a number of British and German actors and actresses. The film has been made in English but has been dubbed into German for it's german audience. Summer and Autumn were the first two, Spring and Winter are the 2 stories that I have been involved with.

The actress I stood in for was the German actress Natalia Woerner.

The other well known actors involved with this production were Tom Conti, Michael York, Frank Finlay, Juliet Mills, Senta Berger and John Light.
I would like to say how lovely Tom and John were, Tom especially as he looked out for the stand ins (there were 4 of us) and made sure we were treated properly. What a star and a pleasure to work with. The crew was also lovely to work with and created a real family feel to the production. It was great to work on with some gorgeous locations and meeting lots of lovely people along the way. Hopefully this production will also be aired on the Hallmark Channel over Christmas, I will keep an eye out for it.

There is talk of possibly more being made so I maybe involved with them, who knows. I didn't do anything infront of the camera this time apart from my hand doubling as Natalia's for a close up! But I'm still really looking forward to see how it has all come together.

Star Wars A Musical Journey - O2 Arena, London - April 11th 2009
This amazing show featured an extensive selection of Oscar-winning composer John Williams' unforgettable scores from all six Star Wars movies in an extraordinary two-hour musical event that featured scenes from the movies, live narration by Anthony Daniels and, at the O2, the 86-piece Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and choir.

The live multi-media performance also included an exhibition of memorabilia from all six films, provided by the Lucasfilm Archives, including original models, props, costumes and production artwork.

As ever the UKG were there for both nights, I attended the Saturday and was lucky enough to catch the first half of the performance. It was truely amazing to hear the music live with the choir. There are plenty of clips on Youtube if you wish to get an idea of what it was like, I have added a link to one, just a random clip as I didn't film it YouTube clip

Throughout the build up to the evenings entertainment the UKG were kept very busy by the fans wanting photos and were swamped before and after the event. Near the end of it I have to admit I had had enough and was pretty weary. It was a great troop and great to get a chance to see some of it first hand too!
Great to be able to retire to the hotel and rest for the evening and take a leisurely drive home the next morning!

Top troop and company and as ever thanks to Sean.

Well I'm half way through my six weeks stand in work on the TV Mini Series "The Four Seasons" and it's been fun and a pain too but I'm not complaining! Things are going well with the build up to the filming in America and I'm looking forward to get going.
I've also been contacted by a couple of production companies who want to send me a script so waiting to see what comes from them, as of yet I am waiting to receive them.
With the credit crunch effecting everyone and everything a couple of possible project have been put on hold. The RPG film I was shortlisted for that was going to be filmed in Portugal has been put on hold for the moment as it appears the Time Dwellers project too.

Memorabila at the NEC went well and the Star Wars O2 event is happening over the Easter weekend in which I will be attending on the Saturday.
Thanks for all the support messages they are really appreciated.

Well I said I was hoping for something positive to happen and it has at last! I was put forward to do some stand in work for a TV film called Four Seasons, I went to see the 2nd Assistant Director the other day and was given 6 weeks work! Whoo! It came at a time when I really needed the money and especially when on the way to the casting I recieved 3 text messages from different agencies telling me I wasn't picked for each job I had been put forward for! Thank god this job said yes otherwise it would have been a most depressing day!
And to finish off the day in grand fashion I got a phone call from America to say I have been cast in a small independent film! Both Sean and I sent a recorded audition and we were both cast! Filming will take place later this summer in Oklahoma! I'm really excited and itching to go and film it. I will post up further info on the film as and when it comes in. All I need now is the other video audition I sent for the film in Portugal to come through and that would be just the best news I could have! Things are looking up at last :D
