About me

Hello and welcome to the Jo Marriott Information Pages.

Jo is known in some circles for her many appearances as a lookalike of the popular TV character Xena Warrior Princess (Zeena) and as Lara Croft. Others may know her from her re-enactment ventures, some from her acting achievements.
The site will be a reference to past events and cover Jo’s current projects and activities. The history pages are all here and a new gallery which includes some of her former photos. We will include a regular posting from Jo herself and we will try to update it monthly so please keep visiting. Thanks for your support and interest.

Background

Having been brought up by parents with a theatrical background, I eventually followed suit and took to the stage.

With my love of history and being a bit of a tomboy it wasn't long before I put all of these things together by joining a historical re-enactment group. Eventually my confidence grew to the point where, along with Tony Rotherham we started our own historical re-enactment group called the 'Company of the White Boar'. From there we formed 2 other groups, 'Spirit of England Medieval Theatre Company' .and the 'White Boar Fight Crew'.

From then on we never looked back, performing all over the country to much acclaim at festivals, castles, special events, film sets and even abroad in Canada and Belgium. Alongside the re-enactment and film work I took singing lessons and entered competitions gaining many merits and placements. I also performed with amateur dramatic groups as well as taking a 2yr.-diploma course in Performing Arts at Coventry Centre for the Performing Arts.

Things have just progressed from there with Jo becoming a Xena lookalike which has led her to travel all over the place making appearances as Xena as well as Lara Croft. Not settling at that she has also kept her re-enactment interests going by being a member of the Seathieves Pirate group playing Morgan Adams. Jo is also Nottingham's Official Maid Marion making appearances along side Robin Hood (Tony Rotherham) at many different types of events. On top of all this Jo is an active member of the UK Garrison of the 501st Legion, the worlds foremost Star Wars Costuming group as a Stormtrooper.

Jo's acting career has seen her play roles in independant films, TV and documentaries which you can read about in the different catagories on the site.
